TOGETHER WE CAN TACKLE LONELINESS
One in four adults feels lonely some or all the time. There's no single cause and there's no one solution. After all, we're all different! But the longer we feel lonely, the more we are at risk of mental health problems.
Because it's mental health awareness week, I decided to write this.
Dealing with loneliness can be difficult but there are things we can do to cope with loneliness and prevent some of the negative feelings and mental health problems that come with it. Here are some coping strategies you might find useful:
1. Try to do some enjoyable things: Hitting the gym, sorting your kitchen cupboards, and knitting is little things you can do. Small activities can give you energy and positive feelings. GET BUSY!!!
2. Try to do things that stimulate your mind: Taking courses, and listening to podcasts or music can be stimulating. Activities that occupy your mind can help with loneliness.
3. Find people that 'get you': It can be hard to connect with others when you're feeling lonely. But there are great benefits to finding people who have been through similar experiences to you. Interacting with others that 'get you' can give a sense of belonging that may be missing.
4. Try to use social media positively: Social media can help your mental health. The key is to use it positively. Finding digital communities, you share interests and passions can help.
5. Talking therapies can help: Talking through your feelings with a therapist can help you cope with your feelings of loneliness. If you think you need someone to talk to, I GAT YOU.
So, folks, that's all I have for you now. Make friends, revive old ones if need be, go out to have fun, and you might just be on your way to enjoying all that life has to offer your health through people around you!
PEACE!!!!!!!❤
